Wentworth Pewter is a hallmark of quality, heritage and craftsmanship. Each of our products has been lovingly handcrafted, one piece at a time, at our works in Sheffield, UK, the heart of the metalwork industry.
Wentworth Pewter is a family-owned business run by Maggie, Richard and Jayne Abdy with pewter-smithing in the blood. Jayne is our lead designer; she trained in metalwork design here in the City of Sheffield. She follows in the footsteps of skilled pewter craftsman, Arthur Richard Wentworth, who founded Wentworth Pewter in 1949.
Pewter possesses a unique combination of qualities. It retains its sheen, is hardwearing and is incredibly flexible to work with, making it the ideal material for developing and crafting new designs. It’s therefore no surprise that pewter has been in continuous use since the Bronze Age and is one of the world’s oldest manufacturing industries.
